Happy Autumn!

Autumn and the harvest season has arrived on the North Fork!  In addition to pumpkin and apple picking, we hope you will add a visit to the Library to your list of “must dos” this fall.  We have a full calendar with events for the entire family. Read on to learn more about of our highlighted events.

Wondering what to do on a Saturday afternoon?
WIND QUARTETS THROUGH THE AGES, on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2:00pm, will take you on a journey of woodwind repertoire through the ages and sweep you away with exhilarating music from the Renaissance to the 20th century, anchored around the whimsical Francaix Quartet.  Alyssa Greengrass - Flute, Eric Umble - Clarinet, Ellen Hindson - Oboe, Allison Nicotera - Bassoon.

Interested in local wildlife?
Then join us for the BIRDS OF PREY lecture on Saturday, October 29, 2:00pm. See live animals from Quogue Wildlife Refuge including a red tailed hawk, amazing owls, and other birds of prey. Learn about native species and how people can help protect our wildlife. Call 631.734.6360 to register for this event.

Have you visited the Upstairs Gallery lately?
The Gallery has all new comfortable seating areas and a self-service coffee bar.  Through the end of October, check out the art show This Land is Your Land: America the Beautiful by artist Pat Feiler

Looking for a safe place to trick-or-treat?
Stop by the Library on HALLOWEEN to see the staff dressed in costumes and have your children visit each Library department for a special trick-or-treat prize!

How about meeting an author?
We have two book talks coming up – Ken McGorry, author of GHOST HAMPTON will be here Wednesday, Oct. 26, 6:30pm and author Regina Calcaterra along with her sister Rosie (via Skype) will talk about their book GIRL UNBROKEN on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2:00pm. Registration is requested for these events.

These are just a few of the programs you can sign up for at the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library.  Take a look at our newsletter for a full listing of upcoming events. Happy Autumn to you and your family and friends! I look forward to seeing you at the Library!
